Mega structures

| I recently realised that I really like massive man-made structures. Such as Black mesa and Aperture science from valve's universe, Akanesh from Styx series, Geofront and Tokyo-3 from NGE and couple of them came from my imagination. Can't tell what's so appealing to me in them but I've been dreaming about them a lot lately (in fact I've been thinking about them for years now without realization). Do you g/u/rls have simmilar experience? el free to share related mediaFe if you have.

| Oh wow. I somehow misplaced Fe in the last sentence, hope you got it.

| Have you ever been to Kyoto station? I was there once on a day with low, thick clouds, and I felt like I had stepped into BLAME! for a moment.

| Yeah I really like structures from Control and The shadow out of time. Now that you say it I think I love such structures too

| i am the night... i am the legend... they call me... >el free

| I like mega structures a lot... I have dreams of such places a lot too. They don't really even need to be huge, but there's something about 50's-70's style of gov buldings and such that's so interesting to me. Like when they revealed the underground facilities in Lost.
Or looking at the closed/barely working factories or ruined buldings in my hometown, which there are plenty of.

| i want to fugg a cute structure !!!!

| Hot takes:
The Pacific garbage patch is a megastructure.
The Netherlands is a megastructure.

your momma a megastructure

| Rain World's entire setting is a huge, massive, yet decaying mega structure, and it looks amazing. The game is so beautiful and breathtaking that sometimes it makes me want to cry ;-; You can look up screenshots of such locations as The Wall, Chimney Canopy and Industrial Complex to serve you as an example, but the feeling you get exploring them inside the game is priceless. I highly reccomend playing this game, even though it may seem to be too hard right at the beginning

| >>65197f do you know the manga "Blame!"? I think you'll like it.

Sadly I've never been to Japan. Photos look kinda cool, but that's not exeactly what I have in mind, because you can see the limits of the building and outside from it. I think more of immeasurably big from human perspective buildings.

Can't say anything about control because it's totally out of my pc's league. But The shadow out of time is great example. I also belive that feeling of human's insignificance in the world that Lovecraft's works give is simmilar to one that I have towards mega structures.

That looks interesting. I'll check it out and maybe post impressions later.

>>a3852c also mentioned it. Guess it's the stuff. Would you recommend movie as easier way to get into it or is it extremely chopped retelling of main story like Akira?

| btw I'm op

Also recommending "Blame!" The movie is good, but the manga is better. The short tv series is more of a chopped-up arthaus style thing. The movie tells one of several stories in the manga well, but the manga is more like the Playboy magazine for megastructures.

| ye I get that I get a kind of excitement when looking at architecture especially when its tall and looks building. sometimes even when looking at apartment buildings (where I live apartments are quite tall so they can go up to 30-40 stories tall average )

| not sure if you would call it a megastructure but i think the kowloon walled city looked pretty cool.
