Why is there always some suicidal thread?

| Literally just search "Suicide"
There's a bunch of them. I can understand posting threads where you feel like shit, I do that too but like, seeing the same suicide threads are getting annoying. As much I would like to help there really isn't anything we internet strangers can do to support you, seek anyone you can trust. Danger/u/ is just a textboard full of random people that you do not know.

| If people find them helpful enough to post then they're good. Obviously we can't help in a material way but anonymous strangers can often offer things irl people may not, or at least be a good step

| I sometimes post mental health threads here, and, it helps. It's venting. I'm getting shit off my chest that I don't have any better way of doing. Sometimes I can get genuinely good help and advice as well. One of the reasons I went into therapy is because of advice from this board. I've found genuinely good friends that I talk to outside of the board from mental health threads here. It might sound useless to you, but at least personally it's helped me a lot.

| But if all suggestions you get are "go to therapy" I don't see the point anymore.

| There's a lot of depressed people here.

It's not just the advice that matters. A lot of the time it can help to just talk about the stuff that bothers you. See people actually trying to help you for once, even if most of the advice boils down to "seek professional help" it still feels comforting to some extent. Venting is very important, and this can be a really nice place to vent about something due to the mostly good community and the anonymity.

| It's a lot easier to talk abt that kinda stuff w/ someone you'll never meet imo

| The advice probably ain't that important.

| Those kind of threads help other people who read them.

| >>679718 Some of us don't have anyone to go to. No one we can trust and there's only pure horror awaiting in the future. Sounds like a cheap noir novel premise, but I wish it damn was.

| /u/ is pretty much a venting board at this point, and there's nothing bad with that

I would say so, but I remember back when I made my first venting threads here and never saw any others. It makes me happy in a way that they're so common now, and that despite them being everywhere the board is still cancerous fun, but now even more helpful and wholesome.
