I feel things about self-thinking AI as dumb thing.. when they are scripted by developers they are not living.
But i'm little thinking how it's works with biological organism made by human. If are xenobots made from skin and heart, and they are able to move stand-alone, does it's mean they are able to know own existence? Or something close to it?

does an ant know it exists? ants have some of the most simple nervous systems on the planet, but they can do some wonderfully complex things, and seem to know things they have no right to know considering they should be <1iq
bronze age mindset ponders this a little, good book go read!

Well, viruses are an example of a "biological" existence whose status as a "lifeform" is debatable... so would a xenobot be any different?
In a way, you could argue that viruses are a kind of naturally occurring nanomachine.
