I couldn't just not answer and ended up saying that maybe I will watch it. I probably won't though, but I I guess she expects I will and yet I have different tastes.

You can just tell her that you're not interested. In a sense where "oh.. i'm not really into that kind of genres but if i want to change things up a bit, i'll try checking it out." Or smth like that imo

She asked whether I started watching it and I said I don't wanna watch it right now. She said okay disappointed. Crisis averted for the time being. Maybe I'll watch it eventually.

Order a hitg/u/rl to eliminate the problem.

What always get them imo is saying you'll maybe get to it at some point, and say you have a lot of shows you want to get to. It's not so much a white lie for me cuz it's true, but it keeps their expectations low without downright refusing to watch it

Then again that might open you up to more suggestions you're not interested in so maybe just say it's not your genre and that you've already got a bunch of stuff to get through. Oh, looks like >>509ac5 was p spot on it seems

At this point I think it'll be less of a hassle if you just watch it. Just watch a single episode or a snippet or something. Then you can honestly tell her if you're not into it.

just out of curiosity, what did she recommend you ?

I just tell my friends that I might watch it, but I probably won't. If they get very persistent I just mention some of the shows I've recommended them that they never watched and tell them that my arguments for not watching it is the exact same ones they make. After that they either stop or they just meme it for a bit and move on.

>>663877 It's a local drama, I doubt you would know it. Has mediocre ratings on both local websites and imdb (and I've learned to trust those). I'm not someone who would give a show extra points for being local out of patriotism or pity.

>>663540 Watch an episode. Tell her what you liked and what you didn't. Is 30 minutes too much time to waste to keep being friends?

>>664462 If not watching the show completely destroys their friendship, then that's not a friendship worth having.
It is a good idea though. I like to have a policy of watching either 3 20minute episodes or 1 40+minute episode before I form an opinion of a show.
