I don't know if it's a good thing or not, but it's true. I was rewatching a TikTok a friend of mine made to see how many views he could get on something trendy, essentially. It was one of those videos with emotional music that had pictures of his dog from it was 1 through 9 years old, and ended with a gravestone. The gravestone was just from Google images and his dog is very much alive, but he got 24k views and over 100 comments of people saying their condolences.

It got me thinking. I mean, it's a well known fact that people are like this, right? Naive, don't think twice, easily manipulated by media etc.
What it really got me thinking about though, is if that has positives to it and to what degree.
Obviously it's funny. Him petting his dog while getting clout because he posted that the dog died, but there has to be some deeper stuff to take from. I'd like to see a discussion of the topic.

Some people are more naive than others, just like some are more inteligent, more brave, more coward, better leaders, strongrer, faster and etc, its what keep us as humans diverse

>>659307 I am aware, but that is not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about how the general majority doesn't ask questions in regards to most media.
To phrase myself differently: People don't doubt you if you post, for example, that your pet has died, and then they give you a lot of love and support, even though in reality, the dogs alive. Is it good that people don't doubt simple stuff like that? If I didn't know his dog was alive, I would also believe it. Is that a flaw?

Would it be better if the general public took everything with a grain of salt and never believed stuff that wasn't supported by evidence, or is it better that most people believe most things they hear even though it's barely or not at all backed with evidence?
There are obviously downsides to both situations, but that's why I'm asking this. Which do you g/u/rls think is the better of the two, and why?

>>659315 herd mentality is very commom on the internet, most people don't think a lot, so even if they hear that not everything is true they decide to belive it cuz its easier to belive rather than question and look for proof, thats why you see a bunch of sjws, simps and fanboys, they sorta put themselves in bubbles and create a safe space

i think that there's nothing wrong with having a little naivety, but when you're so naive that it actually can cause problems or make you believe everything you see online it definitely becomes an issue

>>659314 Perhaps it's not important enough to doubt or even think about. We only have limited energy to spend each day before our brain gets tired. I'm sure not many people spend their energy thinking about the credibility of some random Internet collage of someones pet. You click the upvote button, leave a comment and move on to the next video.
Also, URL for the video pls?

>>661061 It's not about being too lazy to think about all unimportant matters in life. It's about prioritizing.
Only people with too much free time spends their time and energy thinking about worthless stuff.
Also, you still haven't linked the video. Because it doesn't exist. You obviously made it up.
