But I'll be damned if it isn't worth it. Relationships between people are hard to maintain and come with a lot of struggles, but having and keeping good friends in a healthy and not forced way is such a huge help and honestly one of the big reasons I want to stay alive.

If you reach +25 and friendships more than 10 year old, prepare to have some of them become dormant for years (oftentimes because children), then come back once you're 30, 35, 40... Make it your work to remember birthday dates, and always send a message. That's the easy way to maintain the slightest link that can be reactivated anytime.

>>657913 Homie, I'm still far from 25. I already have friendships that have become dormant. I have also found more friends that I've become decently close with. I'll be alright, but thanks for the advice.

>>658640 That sucks. It's always a possibility to develop new ones though, and eventually maybe revive some of your older ones.
>>658769 Having them added on Steam definitely makes it easier to become friends :)

>>658857 I'm not really sure, honestly. My closest friends kind of came naturally, since we were all kind of nerdy and partly knew eachother before highschool. Then I met a few more people because I joined a group/org that does a lot of gaming, tabletop gaming and that sort of stuff. Then I kind of met even more people through those people, and then I also have friends I got thanks to Discord and partly this site. The person I made this thread about being an online friend. -OP

So I guess putting yourself out there and in social situations. Finding people who have similar interests to you, and from there branching out and meeting others. Irl I was honestly just really lucky with that. Online it's a lot easier thanks to Discord and similar, since you can find servers, maybe vibe with some people there, DM someone and if you enjoyed talking with eachother and doing stuff together, well, you've got a relationship.
