I managed to cut down on nicotine!

| I'm just really proud and happy about it. It's not as good as quitting or anything, but now I'm down to 5 cigs a day and I'm soon gonna be buying a vape so it's even less harmful.

:)

| Don't fall for the vape meme. People have popcorned their lungs with hot vape oils.

My addiction started with vaping, and it's proved to be less harmful. It's still not good by any means, but cigarettes are definitely worse and on vapes it's a lot easier to adjust the amount. Not just because you can have different types of vape juice, but also because, like, when you light up a cig that's a set amount of hits and a set amount of nicotine. With a vape you can "put it out" whenever without it costing you money.

| Money is also a big thing. I don't have a lot of it and almost all of it goes to cigarettes. With a vape it last a lot longer and costs a lot less

| Congrats and you should feel proud for a job well done!

But I think you should quit entirely and don't buy that vape. If you start vaping you're gonna be stuck with it so it's better not to.

3 days after quitting you won't have any traces of nicotine in your body so it'll be easier. 2 weeks after that you'll barely feel it.

Corona-chan loves smokers and so do diabetes-san and heart disease-kun. Don't let those asshoes win.

| I had a pretty bad habit of smoking a pack every 3 days or so but ever since Corona chan I just quit cold turkey. I had a past history of asthma so I know smoking would effect me more but the thought of getting Covid 19 made me quit cold turkey quick. I'm happy you are cutting down, so here's to quoting! Best of luck g/u/rl!

| glad i never started.

Well, of course I've tried to quit, and that's something I really can't stand doing anytime soon. The reason I don't vape now is because I threw it away in an attempt to quit, but broke down and started smoking cigs four days later. I want to quit one day, but I started because I wanted something that could calm my anxiety and shit, and now thanks to Corona-chan and some personal stuff I'm not doing that great right now, so this is probably the biggest win I could get.

I'm very glad you managed to quit! I have a friend who quit cigs because of COVID, but he does have other forms of nicotine. I'm glad you managed to be better than that and quit completely!

>>645559
You should be! The best choice is to never start. You're smarter than a lot of people.

| that's weird, because you said you know that it'd be better if you quit, but at the same time it seems like quitting will worsen your state,
so yknow i can't even pull the "you've figured it all out already, so why don't you go ahead and end this" act on you :<

please help yourself as soon and as fast as you can <3

| >>645642
I understand but entertain the thought of buying patches or chewing gum instead. They're not as unhealthy and is easier to quit.

| >>645644
Well, yeah. Physical health wise it would obviously be a lot better if I quit, but mental health wise it would absolutely fuck me up right now. I'll try to get it sorted out better once I'm in a state where I can do more than just cut down.

>>645652
I have, but one thing is their price. I don't remember the exact price here, but they were very expensive from what I remember. I'm also pretty sure I would crave the smoke/vapor sensation as well which is why I haven't tried.

| >>645665
Yeah I know they're expensive but that can make them easier to quit out of cheapness.

Not that I know what I'm talking about. I never used that stuff when I stopped smoking. I quit cold turkey. All 4 times!

Jokes aside, quitting smoking isn't something you do just like that. Most people go back and forth and quit/start a few times before they can kick the habit. You'll only feel shitty 2-3 weeks and then it's EZ mode. It's definitely worth it imo.

| >>645705
It's most likely worth it, but I don't think I'd be able to cope with life right now without it. I'm also pretty sure I have an addictive personality. Something as simple as caffeine takes me way too long to quit and I usually get addicted again only a few weeks later. I'm not gonna use that as an excuse, but this just isn't something I'm able to rush. Withdrawals take such a huge mental toll on me, and so does quarantine and my mental issues, so, yeah.

| >>645480
And I started smoking even more on self-isolation.
How's your situation on getting institutionalised? Haven't been here for couple months, so, I think, I missed something..
Probably, you can guess, who I am.

| >>646681
Ay! Long time no see. I'm sorry to hear you've been smoking more. I started smoking more due to quarantine as well, but I managed to cut down thanks to buying a type of cigs that have a taste to them that makes me sick, so I'm using them to smoke less and it's working pretty well so far.

I was released from the institution two weeks after I was put in. Cleared for psychosis but they're pretty sure I have autism now, which honestly would make a lot of sense.

| >>646712 I, personally, don't want to quit yet, but glad to hear, you making progress!

So, you're back to your hometown?
Psychosis? Do you mind telling more about this situation?
Maybe "in person", if you don't want it here

| >>646712
lmao just reloaded that counting thread, that's hilarious

| refreshed*

| >>646754
I don't mind having it here, but it would probably be annoying for the others on the board, and character limit and all that. So just hit me up whenever.

>>646756
I wouldn't say hilarious. Just true.
