If not, why? If yes, how do you cope?

Cope with what?

>>621489 cope with the underlying meaninglessness of your existence. How do you avoid facing it in day to day life to feel the need to do anything

>>621499 yeah. I havent read about it at all to be honest. I didnt know how broad the definition is. The form of nihilism im talking about is existential nihilism apparently.

You improve, that's the meaning of existence. Simple shit.

>>621744 that's the point. Who fucking cares? "Waaah, nouting materz", yeah, and what does if you're a whiny bitch? The journey to find meaning IS the meaning, it's the path of self-reflection, improvement and, ultimately, clarity.

It's not about result. It's about journey. And journey matters, while you alive. You can leave something here, while you're alive, you can achieve something important for alive-you. Or not, it's your own story. And yeah, you'll just die. That would be the end of a journey. Don't fool yourself with afterlife. It may exist, nobody knows, but it probably not. Don't count on it. That's pretty simple.
Personally, I find excuse like "omg were gonna die not gonna do anything" lame.

>>621744 Nothing matters to who? The only people we know of to experience your effects are on Earth, so the rest of the universe isn't judging you. And you'll only meet a tiny fraction of all of those people, so they only think of you as part of a mass of people in another country, and they aren't evaluating you. The only people you have to worry about mattering to are yourself and the few people you can meet during your lifetime, and while that can be hard, it's achievable.

You g/u/rls dont understand. We are just biological machines with no actual goal in life but to continue the existence of our species. We do things for the feeling of pleasure. There is no ultimate good to reach for. Self improvement doesnt matter. Its only an illusion that youre doing anything worthwile while improving yourself. Im actually baffled none of you get this and believe what i mean by npthing mattering is that we die or whatever. Thats not it.
Even the concept of illusion is arbitrary- we give meaning to the concept of meaninglessness, causing a paradox. Therefore, in place of giving meaning to paradoxes, why not make our own meaning?
To quote an illusory character in his own illusory world:
"Let teachers and philosophers brood over questions of reality and illusion. I know this: if life is illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me. I live, I burn with life, I love, I slay, and am content."
Bonus to whomever gets the quote.

>the improve yourself cope meaning >the journey cope meaning And you call us lame Sure, you made yourself meanings, they don't actually mean anything but it helps you and it gives pleasure because nature and chemistry and blah blah Guess thats how they deal with "mihilism" op, personally it's just survival instinct and fact I can lose myself in video games to not think about it is what keeps me alive, for now

And does anything have meaning? Isn't that what you're obsessed over? The fact is, we are free to create our own meaning out of nothingness, and that meaning is no better or worse from the other possible meaning, for this whole charade is a personal matter. Trying to find the greater meaning, or lack thereof is bound to fail for it is ultimately meaningless whether it's true or not. Live your life as you enjoy it, help others if you want to, improve for the sake of it, fucking live
