Me neither. I feel like the way we remember information varies between individuals vastly. I remember things visually and conceptionally super well, but names and numbers such as dates go over my head

Yeah, me too like I don't remember them through back-to-back introductions on a pedestal, but I remember them from taking their IDs and reading their full names. But I keep forgetting them and end up sttetring like an idiot

I tend to remember things well conceptually and by associating them with other things. For example I remember THAT I studied last week, but not visuals or details about it. Or I remember a friends name, because I meet them through a different friend that I know better.

Serious answer!
Sometimes people are just bad at grasping names. I tend to remember either names or faces at first, not typically both when meeting someone new.
As for anime girls, I know that's more joking on your part. But there is a big difference between a character whose story you are following as a narrative, and a person you randomly meet in an encounter.

Using others' names more often, both in your head and in speech, helps.
>>620958 People are generally better at remembering the location and visual characteristics of objects than anything else. Also, when you smell something, it is easier to recall other times you've smelled that smell than do the same for other senses.
