i know what postmodernism is but it's basically an unexplainable knot of knowledge in my head
basically regarding consciousness, traditionally people didn't write in weird stranger types of consciousness POVs until the avant-garde waltzed in. the you get weird things like changes of perspective and playing with the narrator's omniscience.

Philip K Dick is a favorite of mine, and he very much manipulates your reality as you read. Hunter S Thomson, William S Burroughs? These are likely much later than the crossover...
