I'll be moving to Canada in three weeks time after being raised most of my life in the tropics, and I'm afraid I'll get hypothermia and die somehow from being underprepared to handle the cold. What should I know to help me survive winter and snow?

NEVER use gendered pronouns, it's bound to offend someone

>>592310 I look white thanks to my father's genes. I guess I can flex my Chinese if need be.

Avoid eye contact with people as it can be considered microrape

>>592199 Remember Canada is bilingual, English and French. Be prepared to be confused. Avoid Quebec. Enjoy poutine. Eveet family has an axe murderer as a distant relative. This is normal and not discussed in polite company. Curling and Hockey are major sports. Do not insult hockey players if you want to keep your teeth. >>592358 Wear thermal underwear. If you don't know what that is, go to any major clothing store and ask for help. Canadians are pretty nice on the whole.

The gender pronouns and microrape avoidance tips are the things you need to keep in mind op since you can and will be in trouble if someone feels offended over something small like bumping into someone and saying sorry dude. Aside from that avoid drugs.

>>592597 Thank you for being the only one to actually give me advice. Learning French rn. Can read to an extent, but not all the other things. I joined the Discord language serb, but I never had the time to go back. I haven't even thanked that guy for giving me a definition of 'faite' yet. Going to Montreal. Am I going to die? I've heard poutine is heartburn inducing. I'll be sure to savor it. Are the axe murderers polite unlike the hockey players at least?
