Does anyone here use contact lenses?

| I'm growing a bit tired from my glasses, especially since they prevent me from using shades in summer, so I've been thinking of switching to contacts. Share your experiences please! And is it advisable to get contacts even though my eyes are regularly tired and irritated?

| The best thing I like about lenses, you don't feel em. Well, unless you wash your eyes or sleep with them. For me its way more comfortable to use contact lenses than normal glasses.
But, it was such pain in ass when I was trying to put them on in the beginning. It was very hard, putting them off was not easy too. But now, it's just 10 secs deal.
Lenses are not perfect, you'd better not touch them with not washed hands, sleep or wash your face with them. But imo they worth it.

| I wear them for sports so I don't have to constantly be adjusting my glasses on the field. I really love my glasses, and like the feel of them, so I rarely wear contacts outside of sports. At this point, I think I look weird and different without my glasses. But I'd always reccommend ordering a pack to see for yourself. They're pretty cheap, so it's easy to experiment with them if you'd like.

| Yeah, when you just beginning to use it its a total pain in the ass to put it on and remove it but it's like riding a bicycle - once you get to understand how to do it it becomes as easy as breathing

| I'm too scared to put stuff in my eyes so I don't

| I used to, its neat that you can have contacts and sunglasses at the same time but it eventually caused issues forcing me to roll back to normal glasses. Also if you're swimming it was kinda complicated for me.

I'm not saying I don't recommend it, it's just kinda situational.

Yeah, the thing about potentially losing your eyes after swimming with contacts on kinda puts me off tbh.

| The worst part is the first week, after that it gets natural
Just avoid sleeping or bathing with them on as it can fuck up your eyes
Or at least that's what my eye doctor(don't know the word for it in english) told me

| pros:
>don't fog up
>costs way less
>easier to replace
>more peripheral vision
>don't feel them when worn properly
>don't have to worry about them falling off or parts snapping

cons:
>can actually be pretty dangerous
>have to take them out when you want to close your eyes for more than 5 min
>much easier to lose
>have to spend $$ on solution (that shit runs out fast)
>everything needs replacing every month or so

| A funny thing to me is the crazy effect ot has on my self esteem
When I'm on glasses I'm mild, passive and stutter a lot but when I'm with lens I'm loud, assertive and actively express myself.

Probably some crazy subconscious shit related to my childhood

| Personally I tried them about 6 months ago and I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong or what but it felt like they were less consistent than my glasses some days they were like -1 worse and others +.5 better
