Anyone going to Anime Expo?

| Personally I cant go this year but I wonder how many people on here are going. I'm new to Danger/u/ btw just beat VA11-Halla today!!! (After like a year or two of owning the game)

| Geez I was reading that these boards were dead by I wasnt expecting it to be like this, hopefully with the release of N1RV-Anna we'll see more activity

>for real though anyone on here going to AX?

| Nope, but I am going to Dragon Con in August. owo

Are you going to visit the Girls Frontline booth?

| >>0e8f43 I wish, I'm not going to AX this year unfortunately. I would love to visit the Girls Frontline booth though.

Last year it was kind of hard to find as they last minute switched locations, leading people to scattering to look for it. They put a piece of paper stating where their new location was on some other vendors booth.

When I found it all they were selling were posters. It was ok.

| >>575567 how is dragon con though? I've never been. I hear it's in Atlanta, Georgia and I hear its massive with lots of parties. They have lots of cons here in California, so I usually attend a few like:
>Anime Expo
>Animanga
>Anime Los Angeles (ALA but it's in Ontario,CA now)
>Anime Impulse
>hentai con (never been but they're doing it again this year. I heard it was fun)
>Pacific Media Expo
>LA Comic con
>Crunchyroll Expo
And theres still more conventions

| Guess I'll just keep bumping in Hope's of keeping this thread alive? Do you g/u/rls actually go out and have a social life? Maybe talk and make friends with con goers?

| Bumping!!!

| Woo orgies!

| >>575659 I mean its possible. There are alot of parties at anime expo. At least 2 unofficial ax parties like Senpai Squad parties and one other. There is also quite a few people who throw parties in their rooms but they're very hush hush about it.

| I'd love to but plane tickets to the US (and travel cost once I'm there) is a tad expensive. I rarely go to cons myself but I'm always interested in going to one.

| >>575690 from my experience, anime expo is definitely one of the best and the biggest anime convention in North America. I've gone for 10 years, its definitely worth it. However I will warn you, it's gotten VERY crowded in recent years. Expect to be shoulder to shoulder at times in the exhibition hall and in the long halls getting between the west hall and south hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center if you dont mind that then you should have a great time

We jokingly call Dragon Con the "Drinkin' Con" because its essentially one long university party, except with nerds, geeks, weebs, larpers, roleplayers, SPEHSS MARINES, the occasional furry, timelords, hackers known as 4chan, aspiring forensic scientists, Gen X'ers, randoms off the street, conspiracy theorists, steampunks, and other flavors of social outcast.

It *is* pretty massive- stretching to around 90 thousand attendees as of last year, but it still has that "small" convention feel, without the heavy commercialization of some of the "comic cons" that have been popping up lately.

| It's only ever hosted in Atlanta, too. The city basically treats it like a yearly festival with how much revenue it brings in, so I don't see it leaving anytime soon.

I used to go to local conventions where I live, but nowadays I just go to Dragon.

| >>575789 sounds pretty fun!! I'll have to go sometime! Sounds like alot of fun! 90,000 people sounds great as well, especially since Anime Expo gets around 300,000 people it can be quite... overwhelming.

Also did I hear SPESS MARINES
>FOR THE EMPRUH

| >>575792 I see! I still enjoy local conventions, they're nice as from what I've noticed smaller comes have friendlier crowds and are much more enjoyable.

http://www.dragoncon.org/

Always the same time and place, year after year. :3

If you decide to someday, make sure you book the hotels at least a year in advance- the website tells you when they open up for registration.

| >>575925 awesome!!! Thanks for the info!!!

| Anime expo looks pretty lit :(
