She, alongside Anna during the prologue, sets the whole "random kids keep entering the bar" thing for Gaby, making a bad situation worse.
She is also one of most clear signs that Jill is changing lives, even if she has almost no visible effect in the big picture. If you don't give her Karmotrine, you end up helping her to come to terms with her mother. And Jill being thanked later, while she was going through the difficult situation.
