I think both the creation of the universe and us humans are just the result of incredible luck. The universe is a machine that operates under the laws of physics and all the right particles of matter and energy fell in the right place to guarantee my existence. Did someone (god) make sure that everything fell in the right place? I don't think so, but there's not really any solid evidence either way. The universe is a big place, it's bound something interesting was made.
God is fucked. God remains fucked and I fucked him. >Friedrich Nietzsche

I mean, being an atheist is not DENYING the existence of some superior entity / god. It is merely DISAPPROVING of attributing the unexplained to a supposed entity by default. If I can't explain something, it doesn't mean it is divine work.
I personally think, that if there were a divine entity at work, it would take another divine entity to recognise this work.
Correct me of I'm wrong tho...

>>573270 Ya, you're wrong. There's another ism for what you're describing. Agnostism, and it's the only one that makes sense to me.
Atheism is literally the belief that god doesn't exist- what you're describing is agnosticism, which holds that there's a possibility that god could or could not exist. A theist, meanwhile, is the opposite- a person who believes god exists.

I mean... it's not like the theist side of explanation make clear sense either. Abrahamic religion explains the "how" but not "why" you exist.
Why do god need human to live for 80 years before judging them; wether they deserve to be in heaven or hell? If god is all powerfull and all knowing, he should be able to judge you the moment you start existing.

I deny that god exist. I don't deny the possibility of a higher being that might have direct influence to our existence, but I still identify as an atheist instead of agnostic because those aren't "God". God as we know it exist within religions only, and I personally believe that people of the past came up with religion because they didn't know better, kind of like how people use to think that the earth is flat or that there are only 4 elements.

Born as an atheist, I live my life without knowing the word "God" for almost 15 years. I don't really care about those questions theist have. Even though we are trying to find the answer for those but our universe is too big, anything is possible. Nothing is miracles or beyond reality. From where I live, believing in supernatural is ridiculous.
As humanity is moving forward, more people become atheist.

I deny the biblical god. The universe is too big to exist just for us, and it certainly doesn't care whether I lie, kill, or create a family. I think that humanity, or life in general, is more natural phenomena like black holes, stars, and quasars. Nothing special.
Also, all religions are fuelled by unscientific bullshit, which is what turned me into the atheist in the first place.
Some of the Russian atheists say that there is no God because it was consumed by a more powerful entity.

I ask atheists how they can believe in no god, when this world was perfectly created by a superior and intelligent being. They claim it's merely a big bang that created everything, but then who caused the big bang all of a sudden? The big bang theory is only a scientific study on how it works, it does not explain what exactly caused the right settings all of a sudden to create the big explosion. In a Quranic verse, Allah (SWT) explained how he created the universe like a big bang.

“Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, then We separated them, and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?” (Quran 21:30)
When the Quran was first unveiled, there were no scientists that time to have known how the universe was created aka the big bang theory. This is one of the proofs that Islam is the only true religion. Christianity is corrupted and in the bible, jesus never stated to worship him.

Honestly im more of a dimensions guy. We ascend and descend realities. When we die, i think that we become so little that our existence kinda falls through this one and onto the next one . And the existence of our universe was created the same way fiction is made. Maybe some 4th dimensional guy thought about us overnight or something. Maybe our mind is the another universe and the universe is just a mind we reside inBecause this puzzle is so big and complicated any piece fits in it

>>573503 first off that verse doesn't say anything about a bang it just says they were separated, second you started with a conclusion and looked for a verse to back it up, the devil can quote scripture to suit his needs, this is a very common fallacy in religious circles

I pose this Mr Islam, if a god wrote your book, why do some Muslims believe in throwing gay people off of buildings, but not all? Either the book written by a God is flawed in such a way that it proves lack of omniscience, by way of much of the Islamic population misinterpreting it, or your God is a monster who approves of murderer.

I guess I'm not really an atheist, but agnostic. A god as described in monotheistic holy writings seems unlikely, but I don't really know shit. I probably wouldn't be able to comprehend such a being if it exists.

>>573772 That's a simple interpretation of how a big bang works. God implied that it was created by a bang in his wording that stated "Might". The universe is still expanding as scientists have discovered, and the quran was created back when no human being was aware of any of this.
“And the heaven We created with might, and indeed We are (its) expander.” (Quran 51:47)

>>573872 Jesus was a muslim and you christians are pagan polytheists for worshipping the cross and believing in the man made concept of the trinity, as devised by saint paul, a long time after the bible was unvieled. The bible has been corrupted by humans and it stated the truth about Allah (SWT) being only one god and that jesus is not god but merely a prophet of Allah (SWT).

>>573872 Jesus foretold the coming of the final prophet of God, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in this verse. John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. Muhammad heard god and spoke everything that god told him and that's how the quran was written as it was a telegraphic message by god in a recorded written form.

Jesus prayed like a muslim in a verse in the new testament that stated: Matthew 26:39:And he (Jesus) went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt" Jesus prayed to God by prostrated like a muslim on the floor.

Also, wasn't this thread about atheists telling more about their views on religion? Why shill your religion here and make them atheists hate religion even more?
Post number #573953, ID: 4ee397

>>573949 Jesus was a muslim and the new testament was never meant to be the final message, the final message was the Quran, which was shown by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Mark 12:29: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
John 5:30: Of my own self, I can do nothing
Matthew 19:17: If you want (eternal) life, Obey the commandments.
Jesus himself stated that there is only One God and that it is Allah and never stated that himself was god, rather he nullified that he was.

>>573951 My friend, it is not shilling for religion when it is the only truth to this temporary world. You naive atheists worship science, a study of how things work and were never meant to explain what caused reality in the first place. The Quran even has scientific miracles in it before scientists even discovered it so it does pertain to the discussion by debunking atheism. You'd have to be willfully blind to deny Islam.

My view on the subject is that the main religions we have today aren't worth following because they're outdated. Religion and churches have done a lot of important things for humanity in general: providing moral codes, social support through church, funding for arts, etc. Modern ones, though, especially Christianity, don't do those so well anymore, because now we have a much stronger legal system, government welfare, and such. They also have lots of factual inaccuracies and values which we don't really value anymore, and generally don't reflect the views of the people who follow it. Finally, they have lots of tack-ons and related ideas created by individuals who were trying to get personal benefit. Overall, I think that faith can be a good thing to have, but none of the currently popular religions are worth following. They're not worth the benefits.
Post number #573978, ID: 6e157f

>>573967 I kind of agree, but kind of not. Total faith in something is never good, a little is good, but religious faith is often total which is really not good. But I agree that there are a lot of things in religion made purely for the benefits of priests and people in similar positions, and also that religion has laid the ground works for good things, even if they did it in a less than ideal way.

I don't know and I don't care. What matters is I'm alive and I've got a job which pays well and I like to do it.
Religion is dumb anyway. Science made it possible for me to learn foreign languages without leaving my home, communicate instantly with people thousands of miles away, carry a library worth of books in my pocket, etc.h Meanwhile religion was busy hunting and killing scientists. Religion matters only if you are scared of death. Or if you are stupid (muslims).

Why do people think atheists worship science? Why do people think there is a dichotomy between religion and science? Why the fuck is 'science' even treated like a singular object or material or something when it's nothing like that at all? I really don't understand why they're even comparable.
