graphing caluclator

| I was just curious, is there a calculator that lets you graph any equation like the Desmos graphing calculator app?
For example, my calculator's limited to y=...
Ya gotta set every equation to "y=" but Desmos let's you do something like 24 = y^2 + 5x^3 and it just graphs it.
Of course you can't use smartphones during tests in classes.

| If there is I bet it's ridiculously expensive. Calculators are such a scam. A free calculator app has more capability to overpriced $100+ calculators. Especially Ti. Fuck Ti. Casio calculators cost less and have better functionality, still overpriced though

| There are these Texas calculators that do graphs, take notes, make code and evem run gameboy emulators
I got one just to play gameboy in class

| And on the second point about these calcs being a scam, they're not
You're not just buying software, you're buying hardware and the hardware required to make fancier stuff is more expensive to make
Your calculator app may have been free but you have to consider the cost of your device too

| Holy shit I take back what I said, they're too expensive!
I had no idea since it was my parents that got me one

| Texas Instruments has an effective monopoly, and thus the ability to charge everyone out the ass for hardware that would be outdated 20 years ago.

You always need to solve for one of the variables to graph on a TI calculator. If it's easier to solve for x, you can use parametric mode and set y=t and an equation for x with t substituted for y.

| Make your own 'calculator' with an $11 MIPS chip and by cannibalizing an older TI on Ebay and shove the rigged board into the old or a new TI case. Lastly, recompile the Zilog ROM for this MIPS processor and profit hugely. Bonus points if you can make the mod into a mass-producable chip that sits on top of the TI board. Sell them to your friends and take over the world
