...of checking things over and over. Lights off? Check. Door locked? Check. Touch this and that. And I have to pace back and forth 2 or 3 times all over my home before I finally leave.
And I hate it.

Sounds like you should talk to a professional to make a plan to slowly try and work that back

Same. Have to check gas, lights, outlets, windows and doors a couple times each. It's kinda annoying tbh.

>>567241 sounds like a touch of OCD, but not bad. I had a roommate with OCD, and he would have to do some things 5,10,15 times. If you're saying it's a bad habit, does that mean you can *not* do it if you force yourself?

>>567355 I see it more as a routine than an anxiety issue. It's just a mental exercise built into my head, and I can't drop it cuz I don't want anything seem 'off'. So...
>>567313 ...no. I think I just need to relax or something. No need for a professional. Just gotta rant, you know?

>>567363 the question is: can you choose not to do it? If not, if you *must* do it, that's serious OCD. If it bothers you, but you can force yourself not to... it's less serious OCD. For instance, if you force yourself not to do it, but then spend the next two hours away from the house worrying about it because you didn't check this or that, still OCD. It's a question of how much does it affect your life. Based on that you can decide if you need help to work on it.

Sounds like OCD, I had it for excessive hand washing, thought it was just a good habit(come on! Washing your hands can't be a bad habit, or so I thought), my doctor said it's OCD gave me some meds and now I don't have it anymore

>>567374 Maybe I do have mild OCD... It doesn't affect my life too badly. I'm just annoyed with myself having to redo the things I've already done. Still, I can handle myself without seeking help. I'm all good.
>>567376 This I can relate to. You won't believe the amount of water I wasted...

I do that all the time too. I have a slight obsession with the number 4, usually I'm compelled to do things 4 times.
I don't know if I have OCD though. I'm not particularly a cleanfreak or anything like that.
