| Some people believe that's ok. Personally I think it depends on the situation. The less loss of life the better.
| if you live in any place with western ideals (which is almost everywhere b/c of america's big pp energy) then there is something wrong with that. 'moral compasses' aren't normally aligned with some innate human rightness, they're aligned with those of the people who surround you. if yours doesn't work, you'll make those other people upset with you which is generally bad. we don't not kill people because that's 'right', we do it so other people aren't compelled to kill us.

I agree but, but partially. Even if people wouldn't kill me back I don't think I'd be able to kill them. Is that because of my upbringing and surroundings? Possibly. But is the reason I don't kill people because I would be killed if I did/it would get me in prison? No.

Btw, this doesn't have anything to do with western ideals, murder is equally abhored in the east. And not because of a love for western culture.
