Is it okay to feel guilt for wanting to move out from my parents' house?

Of course you can live nearby to help them as needed, but your priority in life is you... or else you become someone else's problem. Read about codependence, like the book Codependent No More. Your parents are as young as they're ever going to be, so work on yourself while they can still live mostly independent.

| They seem to really love me and say they will be lonely without me. Plus, they're getting kinda old now so I do my best to support them as best I can, even though they'll never admit that they sometimes need it. I'm also able to share my paycheck with them and store up some money in case anything happens.
But I'm 24 already. I feel socially pressured into living on my own at this age, and I do want some freedom for myself, but I feel selfish and guilty for wanting to leave.
