What's something stupid you've been discouraged from doing?

| >>453446 >>453577 umm, it's a soldering iron... if you can handle a butter knife without mutilating yourself you'll be fine. Here is a pro-tip... since you have money, buy a good one with adjustable temp, $75-150 range. The results are much much better and much less frustrating. Watch youtubs on how to keep the tip clean and how to handle solder with it. Once you have the basics and a good iron, it is like magic. Maybe consider makers lab if one near you instead.
