not particularly feeling connected with the world

| I get the feeling that there's nobody I know who I could talk to about how I feel. And have them understand anyways.

| It's kinda making every relationship I have seem meaningless

| At one point I thought that, if I just opened up a bit more, let people knew what I wanted, what I cared about, what I was feeling, that they would understand. That over the course of years, maybe some of who I am would have rubbed off.

| That doesn't appear to be true though. So I'm stuck ranting here, to functionally the void.

| There's still plenty of things to do, to see, to experience, but I'm only doing them for myself nowadays.

| I hope you have a nice day

| I think a therapist might help, maybe an antidepressant too
I see some of my past self in the way you describe your feelings and I hope you can find something that works for you too op

OP here. Your advice is useless and ignorant.

| It is meaningless and nothing will help you to think otherwise. You will have to cope with it until you die.
Thats the short summary what therapist will tell you, but free. You are welcome.

| This is the "fix your sleep schedule, work out and eat healty" of mental health until you have something easily classifiable

Eastern european detected. Just because your shitty country is so backwards and depressing it doesn't mean that the rest of the world is.

God you're so fucking dumb and useless.

| Ah, so you are the psychotic politsperg. I amend my advice - kill yourself, IMMEDIATELY

| >>1111988
Your country is a joke, slav.

| SUPER HOT TAKE

>>2fec38
You're a useless idiot that ignorantly fumbles in the dark.

| >>1111984 hah I've been doing that stuff for a fair bit of time. Somehow, it didn't really do much

| The situations that lead me here are classifiable, albeit they aren't simple. I just didn't want to describe much but my feelings.

You're probably right about the therapist. But I think I have an aversion to them in general a fair bit. I don't know if there's actionable advice one could give me here, and paying for empathy feels like a "the hooker really loves you bro" situation. I also feel like people too often just tell you to see one as an easy catch all for when they want a miracle cure.

As for antidepressants, I have complicated feelings.

| They make me kinda depressed, ironically, that so many people are prescribed them. And not just temporarily. I know they really can help a lot of people. But it feels like they're overprescribed in general. Like "oh it's easier to give you this than for you to address actual issues".

|
I've had some horrible, nearly traumatic, experiences with ADHD medicine in the past. It kinda felt like it was ablading my personality, but I didn't even care until I stopped taking it. I'm very weary of repeated medication you take that affects your mind now. Probably too much so because I'm sure they help people get out of ruts genuinely.

| All that to say, antidepressants are a no go, but I will consider a therapist.

| >>1112030 gurl if some fuckin welbutrin changes your personality enough to not bitch about being misunderstood on an incel polluted anon forum that would be a positive. As it stands its most likely that people aren't forming connections with ypu because youre fucking exausting to communicate with. Comparing the legal amphetamines they give kids for adhd to some anti depressants that will perk you up a bit so you dont mope all the time is insane if thats really whats stopping you

| Op I feel you, modern friendship is just people who share your addictions. Watching TV, video games, screentime by sending memes to each other.

| >>1112029 I think that's reasonable honestly, here in the US at least Drs prescribe them both because they help and because lots of insurance doesn't cover therapy
My Dr said when he wrote the script that therapy is often just as if not more effective for some of what I'm dealing with

| I can't really argue much about therapist because I've not been to one personally but it's something I want to try when I'm in a position to afford it

the more I unpack things I've been through the more I'm realizing how much I just kinda shoved down and ignored and lack healthy coping mechanisms, but for me at least the antidepressants have helped me to be able to consider those things without immediately spiraling

| >>1112073 I don't like saying my opinion above on antidepressants because, I know a lot of people similar to yourself. It seems like they are benefiting you a lot and helped/are helping you work through things in a healthy way. Kinda feels like by saying what I did, I'm imposing my opinion onto others. I guess it was a little imposey. I could have just worded it to apply to myself and not others.

| A while back one of my friends mentioned that if I come in with strong opinions directed towards just myself. Ie enforcing some rule, but just for me (not quite what I did in the posts above, but almost). It kinda imposes on others, implicitly. I guess I haven't considered that up until now.

Very unfortunate.

| >>1112070 I have a friend group I talk to, but only about games, and at times it kinda felt like we were only together because of games. That's not really what I was getting at here, but I feel you.

Sometimes that's not bad though, sometimes you just have the friend that you see when you wanna do x. I guess that can be a good time if you see it for what it is.
