Personally I'm not really surprised but she seemed like a good person and supported good causes so it's sad she died in that you never like to see good people go, but doesn't really effect me because I didn't know her or really listen to her music or anything

Ok I looked her up. She was from tenesee state and sang a lot for 60 years making money. She was cool though. “ Her donation funded the critical early stages of development of the Moderna vaccine.” “Parton was known for her long history of openly supporting the gay community and publicly came out in support of same-sex marriage in 2009.[287] She also voiced her support for the trans community after a series of anti-trans measures came into law in Tennessee in 2023”

The people who get this old rarely do much of note towards the end of their life and the eventual death is often only different in its finality. Nevertheless it is important to mourn it as a sudden loss, for one to express admiration towards their life, but also to maintain a social contract that people will be honored in death for their deeds in life. Basically it's secular ancestor worship.

When I call you all out for posting desperate lies on this board this is exactly what I mean. It's like 60% of regulars here can't face reality without making up their own "truths" in their heads, and it's _always_ negative shit about other people. I used to think only chuds did it but it's all of you.
