Brave new world

| The book raises into question whether happiness at the cost of humanity is worth it, or not.

Our current world seems to favor, if not beg, for a world such as the one portrayed in the book.

What about you, g/u/rl?
Would you give-up on virtuosity, deep thoughts, real agency, our relative freedom, and etc for the good that is eternal ignorant bliss?

| Yes

| Yes

| No.

| We currently don't have either humanity or bliss. What the fuck is your premise?

| >>1104130
>We

| >>1104133
Correct, it is a social issue that has systemic causes. Or do you intend that I personally am the only g/u/rl living under slop-filled surveillance capitalism?

| >>1104133
when the ignorance is so overwhelmimg you forget you're a member of society

| >>16427d
what kind of shit hole do you live in?

| is this about soccer?

| trump killed the coersed after he was shot and still not in office.

| Yes.

| wtf didn't realized I post on the wrong thread

| >>1104130 >>1104135
Brave new world is the end-goal of slop-filled surveillance capitalism.

We have individuality, and we can (if we want to) live a virtuous life, and inspire others. Maybe even form a small community with matching ideals, given enough time.

| >>1104163 the end goal is brave new world without anything positives of said world

| *any

| Isn’t brave new world unrealistic? Why do the people in power care about the soma takers?
But I think we all have to choose brave new world in our own lives every day. Yes we could choose interesting free things, but there are actions which best make people happy and prevent harm, and we should pick those, while maintaining our own happiness

| >>1104104 No, I don't like drugs in any way or form
Soma pills can go to the garbage dumpster

The only element that I like of the world described in the book is that they already mastered artificial wombs
We need those NOW
(But without the eugenics and dividing humanity into different classes part)

>But without the eugenics and dividing humanity into different classes part
You dont get to remove spirits from taoism

| >>1104260
50k

| >>1104256
Yeah!!! I love artificial wombs too!!!

| >>1104270 way too literate to be 50k

| >>1104273 Same twinsie!
I think we need artificial wombs for so many reasons, like giving lgbtq+ people a way to make children of their own, or help infertile people to have offspring, or even use the artificial wombs to help counter the fall of the birth rate

| >>1104260 I can!!!
I WILL have my CAKE and I WILL eat it too!

| >>1104235
Soma is one of the tools to ensure a 'stable' society. Feeling sad? Feeling angry? Feeling violent? Take some half-gram tablets, it will transfer your mind into a perceived 'eternal' holiday of pleasure.

Bored? Take just one, smile like a doofus as the annoying person blarbs his mouth out. No need to listen, a joyful nod of simulated intelligence is enough.

>(But without the eugenics and dividing humanity into different classes part)
Tell that to the indians and their caste system.

All it takes is a single world war smoke-screen for all morality to fly through the window.

| >>1104285
I think they’ll even result in more sexual equality, when couples don’t have one who’s got to bear the child with all the pains that entails. And I hope children will then be born without sexual traits, and can put them on if they want to when they’re older, instead of all carrying reproductive machinery with us and our social position being determined by it.

| >>1104304 Not a bad prospect, right?

| >>1104104 everyone only do so, like dangerus pets.

| >>1104304
I think society as a whole should stop having children when everyone knows damn well the future is uncertain AF.

Sure, let me put a tiny person on earth so they may inherit a fucked-up economy, destroyed climate, a destroyed society that only knows social darwinism, a thousand algorithm-fueled mental illness and a ponzi-scheme of a political system.

Parents are extremely irresponsible having children in 2000+

| >>1104456 Hey it's not that bad yet, we're not living in South Korea

| >>1104316
A really good prospect! I’m actually in a group that thinks they’re really good too maybe you want to join? But we don’t do anything, mostly just send each other gifs and yap about what we had for lunch.
>>1104456
Depends on your level of wealth and care. If you’re rich and raise them liberally, and abort them if they have issues, they will be happy. No one is going to fix the world’s problems except people.

| >>1104456
incel vibes

| >>1104505
We have plenty of people in the world right now. But of course, it's easier to spawn a new person and tell them 'go fix the world'.

| >>1104527
you need to get out more into the real world and stop listening to the algorithms yourself

| >>1104505 I appreciate the offer, but I don't like to use social media and chat apps much
Thanks nonetheless
