I seriously hurt my hand a couple hours ago. I screamed in pain and briefly collapsed onto the pavement.
At no point did anyone offer help, or even just ask “are you OK?”
I controlled the bleeding with a dirty sock out of the trunk and Ubered myself to urgent care.
Then they refused to treat me cause I didn’t happen to have my insurance card on me. I had to wait like ten minutes in line behind some lady who was paying for stuff. Another Uber to the ER.
it still feels fucked up…

In one sense I’m relatively lucky. I was able to walk into the ER, and if the nerve damage isn’t permanent, maybe I won’t even have to look for a new job (after spending like three months trying to land this good paying one I literally just started!!!!!)

But I still can’t help but just feel utterly defeated at the reminder that I’m nothing more than five bucks on some giant corporation’s balance sheet.

This is what happens when society worships sociopathy. How did you hurt your hand btw?
