Were there Toxic power/group dynamics? If not how did they stop them? How did the others smell nice? Did you learn anything about non nun society from getting away from it?

Was it cozy wearing the outfit? I've always wanted to wear a nun uniform/monks robes. I feel like it would be emotionally cleansing

>>1053510 >i woke up at 5am and slept at midnight usually that seems a bit short, but if that's standard for a nun, who am i to judge. just wanted to check that you were well and healthy <3

Yeah sleep is really important apparently that’s a warning sign of cults and abusive ppl is they’ll sleep deprive you so you can’t have strength or think. But that sounds like it was good I hope : )

>>1053539 1 got laid off 2 had free time from being laid off 3 had a comfortable amount of savings to go NEET for a while, but decided to do the nun stuff instead
>>1053543 this heavily differs from temple to temple, but i talked to the head monk at the temple while they were still accepting new monks/nuns. they asked me for email and number and other personal info and i got a form asking how many meals per day i wanted to eat (min 1, max 3) cont.

that meal number (+ rent for rooms) decided how much it would cost me to be a monk. for the 9 days with 3 meals a day, and rent (which costs a ton in the mtns) it was ~1.2k usd. not cheap...
however you get your dharma name out of it, which lets you in (most) mahayana buddhist temples in china for free. dunno about japan or vietnam tho
