i've been working for 4 hours straight, got some work done on my uni porject that is due tomorrow and i got nothing left in myself to finish it. I've been procrastinating for the past two hours and all work could be done already if this stupid side-tracking shit wasnt in my way Any fellow adhd g/u/rls know how to deal with this?

I haven't been well lately due to adult bullying so my former tactics don't work as well anymore but staying away from distractions is a must for me. I keep my desk clean from clutter and I turn off my phone and close discord irssi etc. I used to boot into a different OS with no distractions for work but quit that when I had to use windows. Avoid multitasking and stick to one task at a time. If a task is too complex try to simplify it or break it into small steps, like a checklist.

I also have to psyche myself to so certain tasks. I used to be able to do this by myself by dancing and promising myself a reward for when I'm finished, like going out for a burger afterwards, or by hyping up my good sides by reminding myself of traits that makes me confident. This stopped working when I got depressed though.
You can also hype yourself up by having fun so no more lazy Internet scrolling. Try putting on a time 20 min or so and play a game you really enjoy.

Stop beating yourself up about it, avoid negative self-talk. Instead of saying you can't do this, say you can at least do the first 2 tasks within 30 mins.
And as dumb as it sounds, just do it. A sloppy first step is better than none. Some of the time the rest will follow on autopilot. Even a nonsense first step is better than none. Type random gibberish so you dont have a blank page, or play with the water if you're gonna do the dishes etc.

For long term you should start habits for everything in your life that might be hard to get done, and the older you are the harder it is to form habits. The book Atomic Habits really saved my ass and I HIGHLY recommend it.
If you have smaller task that needs to get done then use a small reward, like putting your favorite soda on the desk and only open it when the task is completed.

And best of all, you got this. If you stick with it you'll improve with every step, it'll become easier with time and eventually you'll realize how amazing you have become. Good luck, I believe in you.
I'm a bit tired and already tucked myself in for the night but if there's anything else you're wondering I can give you more detailed answers some other day.
Good luck! You can do this, and keep that carrot and stick in mind.

I looked up the atomic habbits guy though and they look sussy. I like that you actually tried changing your life a lil a lot though. I've been scheduling to practice doing new habits over and over for like 30 minutes like my new bedtime routine so I'll remember them. I wish I had separate spaces for work and fun. I feel sore when not in my bed.
