woo working the cocktail bar at a wedding
| eesh this one old biddy came by and wanted a cosmo and i was like "my apologies, my bar isnt full service--but the main bar just across the room is"
her: "well its the martini bar."
me: "i know, i apologise, i unfortunately dont have the makings for a cosmo, just the basic martinis--"
her: "hmph. a cosmo IS a basic martini-just vodka, triple sec, cranberry-"
me: "yes, but I don't have cranberry on hand. the main bar does-"
her: "i know that ive been coming here for 30 years"

thank you, and good luck !! stick with it and you'll do well. and idk....management here is so top down opaque, even if i took it upon myself to bring in a full bar kit they might just veto it for the sake of their pisspoor idea of procedural consistency. im...regretting working here but it also pays really well so im torn. ill stay until i find a more comfortable job with a competitive wage i guess

| although after work i went to my favourite dive and it was weirdly bumping with a full spectrum of customers from older folks to young clubbers. also since my second job requires unisex formal wear im effectively boymoding in a fitted shirt and tight slacks plus tie and a sports bra to keep the girls in check and omfggg i kept getting complimented and hit on by both and every gender~~

not unless you have some michelin star stuff lined up and the connections to get you the position. mixology is very simple, a game of building blocks and knowing or intuiting what spirits and flavours work together. i say watch youtubes/read about it, learn the classics (old fashioned and its offshoots like negroni, manhattan, boulevardier etc), martinis, and gin drinks. and try to get practical experience at local bars. the more comfy you are with shakers etc the better

| Job-chan here ! lot of martinis and old fashioneds...have a bit of a lull while the dancing begins but i'll be busy before long until probably at least midnight. but i got two days off after so im gonna power through it and then go home to smoke up and replay Gravity Rush :3
