I think it's less about venting and more about being a perpetual negative nancy or talking shit about people or groups. Behaviour like that won't sit well with some people so OP will get their face full of ironic consequenses instead.
I think it's fine to vent when things are tough if it's done sparingly, but some people seem to create negative circle jerks every other day instead of facing their problems head on and personally I don't care for such self-destructive bs.
