aldi is not real

| The parking lot is too easy to park into without hitting a small child/homeless person. The building itself is minimalist but not enough to be interesting, in the same way a new apartment building. Heading inside, the AC is set to be slightly colder than the 7:49PM evening air, severely angering me off. The floors are slightly too clean, despite being used by Californians, and my ears were noticing the distinct lack of copyrighted out of season Christmas music.

| There were 7 checkout lines closed, and the only one that was open didn't have its light on. The aisles were arranged in a simple array of columns, devoid of any Costco-like labyrinthine twists and turns. Every product lining the aisle shelves was from some incomprehensible German brand, except for a $4.99 jar of Tony Packo pickles. Above the aisles, gargantuan signs towered over me, revealing an ikea-esque roof far higher than needed.

| The signs themselves were looked like stock, royalty-free images probably purchased in bulk alongside a angry man holding two bananas, overlaid with a font copied off of a white mother's Live Laugh Love sign. This place doesn't feel real. If this was a youtube video, it would be called an ARG. If this was a Doom mod, there would have already been a Power Pak video on it. If this was a Roblox horror game, it would have twenty channels explaining the secret ending.

| It's weird. It feels like it's been AI generated to reduce the amount of money it costs to make a store.

| the american mind cannot comprehend this
