Have any of y'all hacked or modded your consoles? Pt.2

Continuation from the last thread.
I used to work for a console modding store on the weekends when they needed extra manpower. I remember the PS2 chips being a bitch to mod because they had like 21 screws and 42 soldering points. By the time the modchips hit the GC scene I was the only one with a triangular screwdriver(the owners were to cheap to buy one for some reason) so they hired me just to mod gamecubes.

Lately I've been thinking of HDMI-modding my N64 and maybe my PS2 but the boards are kinda pricey if you want sub-1ms input lag and for some reason they charge extra for a "deluxe" firmware upgrade. We're talking like $190 for the board and wires. I'm debating wether it's worth it or if I should simply get a CRT TV and use that instead. Even though it's low-res it'll look miles better than 240p on a modern LCD TV.
Do you mod your retro consoles for better image quality or?

Yeah, but only my PSX is modchipped. The PS2 has a soft mod (MechaPwn) and the PS3 has a CFW.
