Should i use AMD?
| AM5 should be around for a while, and AMD offers better price to performance anyways. I'm real pleased with my AM5 system, but it's specs are kinda ridiculous, so I'd hope I'd be pleased with it.

| I'm thinking to upgrade after 4 years probably when new consoles show up.. so maybe even AM6 will may exists xd but Intel is changing slots too often.. But i was already now thinking about upgrade from 9400f to 12400 or something like this but when i found out how sockets looks like after 9 gen it's just make me think that AM are probably easier to upgrade anytime

Intel chips are currently the space heaters in the CPU industry but honestly they both run hot by design now I'll explain more in a sec

I assume you're talking about how bulldozer had a weird core design where two cores shared components?
They dropped that with the Zen architecture so ryzen doesn't have that issue

To my knowledge both modern AMD and Intel CPUs will suck down about as much power as you can give them until they hit hard limits be that power delivery or thermal limits
AMD let's you overclock any CPU, and has a feature to allow you to OC without really doing an OC by telling the chip to suck less voltage for a specific clock letting it boost higher before it hits limits it's called PBO2
I think Intel still requires you to have a K chip to OC
| ^ bias disclosure I'm not that familiar with modern Intel I've used ryzen since 1000 series being the 1600x and currently a 5800x
Having fun playing with the core offset feature I managed to increase performance and drop temps with no real downside, it does take tweaking though so expect crashes until you get it dialed in

| I'm thinking to upgrade from lga1151.. honestly i like Intel and i would probably stay with it.. but i feel tired from idea to need upgrade motherboard just because new socket exists.. amd looks more friendly about it but idk.. are overheating and 2-core performance still problem?
