That would be smart g/u/rl! Always remember the 3, 2, 1 rule. You should have 3 copies of your data on 2 different types of storage media, 1 stored off-site.

I want build a NAS myself too but I'm too poor rn :(
also, what amount of storage you would recommend to buy for my first storage? I'd like to store there like maybe 10+ animes in okay quality and music... and stuff...
