And what/who have it? Can animals have it? And what about machines? Or particles?

If you look up some merleu pointy you'll see we are only really conscious for maybe 10 percent of the day and the rest is just body habit.
Where as animals are just body habit all the time. I'm taking consciousness as being aware of having an experience here.

>>940407 Nah, that's bullshit. Animals aren't robots. They may not be sapient like us, but most animal species are sentient so they are definetly conscious of their feelings and sensations.

I believe, actually I'm gonna be intellectually honest enough to proclaim that I KNOW that if you think about it, you'll realize that you're conscious for more than 1.6 hours a day. We may not be concious of every action that we take, sure, but we're not philosophical zombies for 90% of our waking time. Bruh.

>>f5bdcc nah we kinda are, look up the guy if you're actually interested.
Did some really cool studies on people that had they're brain caked and found that they're body habit can persist even when they can't conceptualize or think. It's why it's so hard to change how we think even if we're aware it's negative.

>>940424 i like your binary option >>940407 i believe that i'm always aware when i'm here or not, and what i do.. so i think that it would be much more, just at different levels of concentration.. >>940464 this is honestly interesting point
My english is maybe little bad, but i mean by it primarly "I'm here" realise and you can do things
now i have evolved this question.. can bacterias or viruses be consciousness? And what about cells? Can they know they are here?

I saw for few months mentally handicaped people.. most of them was mentally around kids.. few extremes was on level of babies.. (they couldn't go to toilet or was saying things what didn't make sense, or not even remembering you) And it made me think about few things..
1. I think that babies can't be consciousness, or really small % of them because of infantile amnesia. I don't dare to judge animals, but i suppose they will be on edge of being consciousness.

2. When i saw one 30-45 years old woman what was doing random movements, telling random things and just trying tasting not eatable things. I think that it must being some part of brain function.
But now i have few mindfucking thoughts..
Theory about determination and self-deception.
We are knowing that we are here, and we have free will to do things. But are we?

Human brain is mostly made from neurotic cells which are connected each other. Tasks of these cells is transfer signals. And these cells was evolving over 300 millions years. What if purpose of these cells is keep organism alive and duplicate? And "consciousness" is just random evolution anomaly? And at end we are just slaves of needs and environment.

Determinism is for change telling that everything in physical world is following scientific laws which should follow also our organism. One of important points are chaos theory, entropy and quantum physics. There exists theory that human brain is working on quantum level in some way.

I think that that human brain can theoretically be "scripted" and doing things based on how was evolved. And if there existed 100 accurate copies of this universes i think that we would decide in every single "copy" of it behave probably same. over that we don't realise it. And it's honestly somehow creepy. Most of us are following some habits, and over that i sometimes try behave randomly sometimes, is my choice really random?

I think that consciousness and randomness can be connected just with not enough information about complexity of whole system (about any).
I hope that my post isn't boring. If you disagree about anything, please tell me why ^^

Small fun fact: In 2020 was by AI found Xenobots, which can be in some way considered as artifical life. I can't say that i would understand these things, but these concepts brain fucking me. And my first thought was.. does this thing can know itself? And after playing the turing test i just returned to these thoughts.. I think that consciousness must being someone connected with synergy of neurons or quantum event. I don't believe that conventional machines can have consciousness.

one of interesting theories is also having Schrödinger which think that here exists only one mind

Following from habit you could probably make the argument for a hard determinism but I think the great thing about our brains is our capability to think irrationally. Otherwise we would still be bashing rocks together with no anime or Vidya games.
If we could see animals or bacteria displaying some sort of interplay where they just do stuff for the meme and have an existential crisis then sure.

To be fair it's really hard, most conscious experience we prescribe is sort of inherently biased anyway as we project on a lot of intent on to biological function. Cats aren't being cute, they're cry mimics an infant yada yada...

humans are fucking retarded for thinking that we are special and possess conciousness. its just a ploy to promote the idea of individuality when in fact we are not special at all.
