Just host your own bro. There are pretty good tutorials on this. Dont put trust in others, trust only yourself. Some recently say Mullvad is decent.

Host your own is alright but you lose the benefit of lots of locations so if getting around content blocks is your goal it doesn't work as well

>>724697 That's Bullshit. Yes, there is an increasing number of VPNs/Providers that could be described as "compromised". But that doesn't mean that VPN as technology is conceptual/inherently compromised.

>>724925 The problem about hosting your own VPN-Server is that you need access to a server that is available on the internet. Running such a server on your own may result in the initial issue that made you want a VPN.

Most people use VPNs just as a proxy to the internet in order to bypass geo-restrictions that exist in their countries for political/economical reasons.
Since then "VPN" has become a false synonym for "internet proxy" and the providers of this kind of VPN.
But VPN was never meant to used this way. The idea of VPN is to grant secure access to an inner local (or virtual) network through another outer network (e.g. the internet) while keeping those network isolated from each other.

Knowing this, reading what this threat is about for real respecting the context, I find the used terminology starting from the headline/question misleading. Instead "What are the best VPN's?" it is about "What are the best internet proxy providers?"

>>725072 if you're gonna pay then its better to pay for VPS and have more control than with VPN. Still not ideal but thats best one can do.
