Been running Firefox dev version for like 4 years now and I'm not looking back personally
If you want to try a chromium browser I'd recommend just normal chromium over Google chrome but basically every other browser is based on chrome these days including Microsoft's edge
So you could go with vivaldi, opera, brave or whatever suits your fancy they're all chrome

If firefox stops being used by people and disappears, the way we browse any webpage will be entirely mandated by Google, since the only ones who will be maintaining meaningful browser engines will be Google and to some extent Apple.
That should be enough incentive to stay with Firefox, I guess

You might try palemoon or some other old FF's fork. There's some neat projects there. But yeah, it's between FF and Chrome if we are talking mainstream.

And, well, there's no real reason to use one over the other aside from ideology.

>>707302 Honestly i don't see any reason not to use firefox. Of course there are forks and foss projects but well they kinda suck, and if you care about privacy you can just tame firefox with some scripts, and if you want not a single packet that is not yours to go outside just download simplewall or if you're on linux something similar. Firefox has nearly the same features that chrome has but all your data isnt being sent to google and you have tons of addons.

Alternatively if you're too much into chrome just download degoogled chromium and then just put addons manually, no telemetry, fully safe, because it's degoogled and open source, a fully tamed chrome.

Have you tried plugins and extensions om firefox? You can customuze the UI too, making it look completely different. I suggest uBlock Origin as a starter addon.

>>707921 it's not a starter addon, it's a must addon

>>707937 personaly i don't have any addons on ff haven't since around when they switched to new format(a few years) since i can't be bothered to review their code and there's no way in hell im going of thrust
+most addons are wtf levels of slow
and anything a addon can do something else can do better

>>708005 to your last point
nah, ublock can block things that something like diversion can't, ex ads hosted on the same domain

>>708005 so in a nutshell are you telling me that you don't use an adblock because it slows a bit the page loading and you dont trust its code that runs on millions of pcs? Even if it would be a virus i would still put it on my browser, an adblock is vital nowadays, good luck watching the half page neverending ads on the internet

>>707302 Hey! Just use Brave, Brave is the best balance between privacy and efficiency, personalization of the integred adblocker, browser, preference etc allowed, you even have a tor browser if private navigation isn't enough! Also if you don't care about ads, therd is a unique rewarding system (real cash) for watching them

>>708058 Dude, are you being paid for this?
Disable ads and (illegaly) substitute them for their own and get paid a proportional fee of their own, propietary, definitely-not-a-cryptocurrency tokens. The more advertisement partners and people, the better!

>>708325 Absolutely not, it's just a perfect internet browser for those who knows what they are doin with it

>>708415 Does it have userscripts? A big library of addons with adblocks that actually block ads and trackers with a customizable filter list where you can add what it missed, does it have customization addons? Does it have tracker protection like on firefox? Is it faster than chrome? Does it have built in vpn like opera? No, they have ad watching for virtual coins, it's a truly perfect browser.
