Userscripts for Android in 2020?

| so i tried userscripts with greasemonkey on firefox desktop and i found it very useful. do any of you is it's possible to get userscripts in an android internet browser? I think that addons in chrome android are out of the question. for firefox, it seems that there used to be a lot of addons available, but now only a handful of reccommended addons can be installed on android :(

any ideas?

| Ok so I could be wrong but I think If you get the nightly version of ff you might be able to install any addon but don't quote me on that

Other option is just use an old version or compile yourself it's just a flag iirc you can disable it

| thanks, it looks like it's possible with firefox nightly https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2020/09/29/expanded-extension-support-in-firefox-for-android-nightly/
i'm going to give it a try. thanks!

| Hey, for what kind of things you use userscripts? I couldnt find any usecases for them but you apparently did.

| personaly i find that
firefox/user/chrome/userContent.css
is way faster and can do just about anything
(no clue how firefox mobile does it tho since i use desktop firefox on phone)

| >>707870 there's a bunch of nice things you can do just depends what you're after

Dark mode for sites that don't have it, though you can also use stylus for that

For youtube I use a script that auto makes the video fit the window so there's no border, even before the ui change

Ffz on twitch is a user script

There's a script that will download things from sadpanda if you don't have the gp to get the zip

i have a couple scripts to avoid login walls in websites like pinterest, instagram or reddit. and also a github widescreen modification. nothing really invasive, really.

| >>708010 >>708340 i see. Well most of the work can be done by addons though, like dark mode for all websites. But some of them seem interesting, thanks for sharing. Where do you get them?

| You can get them from greasy fork, you need one of the add-ons grease monkey, tamper monkey, or violent monkey

You can also find some on github gist and other sites

Part of the nice thing is actually getting able to replace an entire add-on with a script imo
