Mozilla's restructuring, laid off 250 people

| News article: https://www.theverge.com/2020/8/11/21363424/mozilla-layoffs-quarter-staff-250-people-new-revenue-focus

Statement from Mozilla: https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2020/08/11/changing-world-changing-mozilla/

This does not look good. Most people interpret it as "Mozilla's new focus is on making money", but I want to be less cynical. Maybe Mozilla's been a sinking ship this entire time and they're salvaging that.

| I'll be honest I only read mozzarellas statement but I got the impression that they're looking at other ways to make more money, which is bad unless you remember what they've done previously like that Mr robot plugin they forced on everyone

Basically I think this is a good change, if Mozilla can make money from other things they have less incentive to pull shit like that... Hopefully, it remains to be seen how it will actually shake out

| I just realized the people they laid off includes everyone (EVERYONE) who worked on MDN. That's really reaaally bad. MDN is the best-written documentation on the web and invaluable to web devs everywhere.

Sure, MDN is also community-based, but this is kind of like if danger/u/ is still up but all the janitors are gone.

Oh found the tweet. "My team - the entire MDN writers team and remains of dev rel - got laid off."
