3d printing

| Hey g/u/rls do any of you have experience with 3d printing or is it all a meme? I want to buy an Ender 3 with my little brother(16) and do cool projects together: watering with uv light station for saplings, designing cogs for broken machinery etc..

Your opinions and experiences?

| It can be fun just don't have theese grand expectations like fixing anything that actually deals with a decent level of force
i personaly have a ender3 and id class it somewhere between a fun toy - occasionally usefull for making containers

| Owning a tevulo tarantula I can say it can be quite fiddly at times. Also... while it does sound like amazing technology at times it's still FUCKING slow. Like seriously. Bigger parts or complex structures can take up to 2 days on my printer. Do you maybe have a garage or something that you could build a small workshop into? A vise, some files and good ol' elbow grease and you could make a surprising amount of things in there. Saw and hammer are useful too.

| While 3D printing can be useful at times, I often use metal instead when I can. Bending sheet metal, welding and such are just way faster and more stable.

| *not stable, I meant robust. English isn't my first language.
