How do you name your computers?
| Phones end with 'box', laptops/portable computer ends with 'book', PCs end with 'term'.
- cakebox -> Phone
- dosbook -> Laptop w/ Windows
- osxbook -> Laptop w/Mac
- devbook -> Laptop at work & w/Linux
- devterm -> Computer at work
But I tend to name things silly names when it's just a temp name/I won't refer to them in LANs:
- fortress -> Computer at home
- pastel -> Phone w/ Linux
- sol -> Raspberry Pi w/ Raspbian
- may -> Raspberry Pi w/ Android
| all of mine are spices. this naming convention worked well for about two names.
cayenne >my phone
paprika >raspi running discord bots
fivespice >my desktop
thyme >my laptop
coriander >raspi that runs the 3d printer
also, my windows partition is named bluehawaii because my dad named all the computers in his house after elvis movies and it isn't worth changing

The host on my Linux machines is always 'navi'. That's all.

The desktop is just named Machine and the laptop is called laptop. The phone just has a bunch of random letters and numbers.
My only IOT device runs on its own network and is named Lain but I'm thinking of renaming it after someone who sucks because it's a robot vaacum.
Yeah I'm not very imaginative with names.
