So the last time I've had an Android phone the current version was 2.3. And now I'm stuck with Droid for a while. Gimme some recommendations on apps, God I hate this word, and cool features, please.

A widget called stuff - a simple list thing, which just works Did you change the launcher in your phone? It's not mandatory, asking out of curiosity

I use lawncair launcher
Apps
Fdroid (3rd party Foss only app store)
Amaze file manager (Foss file browser so it won't sell your data)
newpipe (YouTube but unofficial so no ads more features)
simple gallery {the orange one} (I don't like the default one and it *was* foss)
Redreader if you're a Reddit pleb (less shit than real one)
twidere (In combination with the real app because notifications don't work great but there's no ads or timeline fucking afaik)

Most of the good app developers have abandoned Android, I honestly can't recommend much for it that isn't paid:
