2. There's usefull software that's linux only. When switching have a good look at your options, it's likley you'll find something better that you could not run before.

Windows and even more Mac users are only afraid from freedom. I would not mind it, if this was just their kink and they leave me alone with it. But in reality they expect that everyone has to be in their proprietary cages. And then they denounce GNU/Linux users as "Ideologists". Giving people a truly free choice is bad for some peoples business. But since people like to have it, marketing strategists put much effort in emulating this choice in an environment they are in control of.
