There any P2P Video Streaming Programs that Use a Local Client?

| So, as everyone knows, there is a lot of contention regarding just about every game-centric livestreaming service nowadays (Specifically taking the likes of Twitch and Youtube).
So, I was curious if anyone knew of any programs or systems that allowed one to stream directly to users, as opposed to central server? As well as to if there are any programs that will receive such, or a way to get it to work with VLC?

| Sounds like an easy DDOS... Or perhaps are you talking about screensharing to a private group?

| Peertube. Its like mastodon, and part of the fediverse i believe. You can host your own server and stream directly to people. Load is handled by making it so that when more than one person are watching something, the files are shared between the swarm.

| So you can use rtmp and vlc can play it, but that's still you > rtmp server > users but you can run the server if your internet isn't trash

Also of note you can use streamlink to watch twitch & YouTube in vlc

Does Peertube have livestreaming tho? I thought it was purely VoDs. I do have it on my radar for that regardless

Specifically speaking of the feasibility of full-on livestreaming without a middleman such as Twitch.

| LBRY seems good, however i cannot confirm as i haven't used it much. (also not sure if P2P, but it uses blockchain stuff) https://lbry.com/

| Have a look on "streamlink"

The problem is, that many platform maintainers want you to use their "Apps" and create APIS, which are not standard-compatible and change very often their behavior over time. It's a rat-race.
