Search Engines could have a option to filter out news websites off the search results

| For example let's say that you want to search something (eg. politics) but all you see are stuff from the news outlets in the results .

But what if they got some dedicated fellas to list all the news outlets they find and use it to filter them all?

I've been quite bothered to see news outlets over and over as my main results, sometimes you just wanna see opinions instead of what journalists say for certain topics. Although my idea is probably a bit complicated for them.

| If you use Google, forget about it
Google has partnerships with news outlets that gives them preference on search results

| >>596668 you would probably make an add-on that uses exclusion (-) for most of the common news sites when you search something

| >>596704 Seems like something one can make with userscripts, but I can see some problems by making an addon/userscript
>Could make searching slower
>Less results would appear due to filter, making the user press next page often
I'm currently learning C++ right now, It's a long road though especially because I'll probably have to adapt to whatever language the userscripts use.

>>596678 That's what I thought, but I'm pretty sure DuckDuckGo would do it (very unlikely though)

| >>596726 oh better idea, searx plugin/fork, you'd probably be able to filter while displaying the same number of results

| Yeah, you can probably use exclusion like >>596704 said. Google has a pretty robust filter system actually.

... Or at least it did a while back. It's kinda unreliable now what with it taking out the words you specifically search for. Idk.
