When people talk about about fedora I always like to mention my experience with it. Across last 10 years I attempted 3 installs on different widely available hardware. First one resulted in a bootloop post-installation, second resulted in a python exception thrown during initial installation and third one installed succesfully but segfaulted in dnf during the first index update. The absurdity of these cases showcases that fedora is profound garbage not worth anyone's time.

Fedora is best because it actively supports compiling a custom kernel whereas other full fledged distros do not.

Oh Konata, why so :3 about broken installs. You need to play it another go. Install is a fun game. Ask "Bob" to play w/ u.

>>1094220 i've had the same arch install for more than 5 years at this point, what are you talking about? (only broke once when there was a power outage during an update, but i fixed it and now i have a ups :3)

also that power outage rescue was the one time my retarded ass accidentaly wiped the whole root filesystem while deleting crap from broken packages (luckily had a backup)

Not speaking from experience btw but my oldest friend is a Foss maintainer and codes for a living.

>>ab151b i mean if you really need workload-specific optimizations like that it would be nice if your distro cooperated on that front. but for most people something like plain mainline or zen is usually enough.

>>1092851 when JIT didn't exist, branch prediction was ass and SSE/AVX was functionally a scam - compiling your shit was free performance. Nowadays performance gains are miniscule.
