Don't worry about it. It was a wrong assumption on my part. I only threw it out there because it's a common rookie mistake and I didn't expect a snarpy response. We're cool, and it sounds like you managed to get the laptop running again.

(i still disagree with you though) i did manage to use the cloned ssd in my dads laptop: i had to edit the registry to enable stormvme (windows doest seem to have dynamic driver stuff that early in the boot process, hence the bsod. Piece of soykaf software.)
