Will we ever get good file pickers on leenix?

| It seems like only KDE has good file picker. GTK DE's file pickers are held down by gnome devs and we still can't change how it looks. No thumbnails other than the tiny ones that you get by clicking on the file.
It's been an issue that was reported 21 years ago. Windows 98 had a better file picker. It's frustrating because otherwise DE's like XFCE, Cinnamon or MATE are more robust and superior to what Windows has become.

| just use rsync

| what is file picker

| i like the java file chooser.
i'd probably use that if i cared.

| Wrong question in thread title.
The actual question should be:
Will there ever be good file pickers for GTK/Gnome?
You could go even further and ask if GTK/Gnome will ever catch up with Qt/KDE regarding usability, look&feel, portability and consistency.

| i've noticed qt has great sftp support and i recommend it when someone doesn't wanna bother mouting the usuall way.

gtk3 is an extreme downgrate compared to to gtk2.
and every qt dev can't properly define a optional dep to save their life.
