Tell me about linux software you've found that's not very well known, but pretty good! My picks:
Eza. It's a drop in replacement for ls with much better formatting, more color support to distinguish files and perms better, and nice options for tweaking it to your liking. Hardest part is just remembering to use it over ls.
btop. Alternative to htop with a really cool UI and a lot of info, allows sorting by a bunch of different parameters to find specific things.

I like Qtile window manager. People usually use awesome and it is cool and all but Qtile is in python and easier to modify. There are occasional bugs here and there though.

Oh interesting! What do you like about qtile over awesome? I remember trying to use awesome and I kinda hated it.

>>1060169 well, I had a window manager phase a long time ago, so I don’t remember much. Awesome felt weird and old, something like this.
ytfzf, "A POSIX script that helps you find Youtube videos (without API) and opens/downloads them using mpv/youtube-dl". if you have an underpowered laptop these days, it's pretty essential to watch youtube without lags and less RAM usage.

dwm (the WM), st (console) and dmenu (pretty handly menu for lauch bin by type name or part of it) from "Suckless". Peaclock, cool-retro-term, mutt, mbsync, msmtp, what else.. fff (console file manager, also look on cfm and clifm), cava (sound visualizer, bars), vi, qpdf (cli tools for pdf), vcmi (nice project for HoMM III), ncdu (disk usage), ncdc? It is direct connect client). nano, mc, pdmenu (menu like Norton), xcmenu, smenu, xmenu (not xcmenu), nvtop, btop, htop, atop, iftop..

>>1060357 Yeah, cmus also is my main audio player!

I hate that cmus can't comprehend multiple artists in a single album, it made me stop using it

nnn - file manager, nvi (better than vi), iotop-c, shfm (file manager on POSIX shell, see also sfm, sff), tilda (drop-down console), tilde (text editor looks like Norton), audacity (gui audio editor), audacious. >>1060577 Oh, how about moc or mus?

>>1060681 yeah I switched to moc and liked it. The server running in the background was a cool feature too

>>1060359 ncmpcpp or die!!!11!!

>>1060736 Why so.. categorically? I see, as frontend the both of ncmpc and ncmpcpp for mpd (music server) are pretty cool, like cmus. I don't much like server-client idea, and it requires all of known audio servers libraries (pulse, jack, sndio, pipewire) and its compiling requires many langs. On opposite side the cmus just requires (mainly) C and Shell, and it is a modular, and just a client. But now it stops play ogg files, latter I will fix it.

>>1060704>>1060869>>1060736 But somewhere it is good have client-server scheme for music (like use sndio to make your own internet radio station), e.g. you can catch mpd output by OBS, I guess, using this instead of that dances with different audio devices (sources) and bridge (like graph) for retransmit sound streams.
