Cheap ass laptop or Chromebook with good battery life

| I'm willing to spend around 70€. I don't do much on a laptop.
I'd go with any Chromebook but everything lost support in 2021-2022 and is pretty much ewaste since it gas Google Chrome that's 4 years old.

| ThinkPad X220

| I’m surprised they can’t run up to date Linux. Maybe search used laptops from reputable brands for cheap and look for long battery lives stock, and order a replacement battery? Often times people recommend a specific model, but I wonder if you have any improvements on my general algorithm.

I have support from my parents so I’ve been able to buy replacements when things break. The lesson I got from that was spending weeks stressing over getting the ‘right’ laptop is foolishness.

| >>1055834 OP said GOOD battery life. not 2-4 hours.

| Yeah my x220 I would not recommend for battery life. I think you want something with a modern processor like an i5 or phone one made to be efficient. I would look for a laptop from post 2015 used, from a company giving some assurance of quality standards, and then be ready to spend another $100 on battery, drives, another laptop if it doesn’t work out.

| and I would try not to spend too much time on it. Find modern laptops which were originally marketed with good battery life online for your price range. Check Linux compatibility and battery replacability. And buy it today. And move on. There’s an idea I have that I have to be the best shopper or use the oldest hardware but your life has value this laptop serves to enable, you don’t have to prove yourself like I’ve tried to unless you’re going to make a career of laptop acquisition

So this is what I searched in USA and would then look up the models and their year, advertised battery life, and a battery replacement video to skip through and put them in a spread sheet. Don’t get lost or give up! I wanna hear it go well! And also from more experienced buyers w tips!

| I would take a shite laptop over a Chromebook personally, but most of the things I would want to use a laptop for require storage space.

A friend gave me his old gaming laptop. I can play vidya without leaving my bed. I don’t think I’ll ever leave my bed again.

| >>1055841 a 9cell could get you up to 10 hours, though that is probably a thing of the past. I don't think Lenovo still makes batteries and the chinesium ones suck.

I'd still recommend getting a thinkpad locally on facebook marketplace/kleinanzeigen/craigslist. I always got good deals locally.

| >>1055831 I don't know from what country you are coming, but can you send me please from what kind of store/second-hand market you would preferly buy this device? And does shipping must being included in price? Or is ok to pay 70€+something more in shipping?
