why do secure enclave and intel ME run off of microkernels??

dont get why secure enclave supposedly uses a version of L4 or why the IME uses minix under the hood. i guess performance in those limited spec ""trusted execution zones"" matters?? but i still can't find an actual reason as to why they use microkernels specifically

supposedly the isolation on a microkernel is better
but it's already isolated to shit??
secure enclave has its own cpu and special little area of dram same with intel ME and amd PSP
