What's ur favorite OS?

| Windows? Nix? Arch? uwuntu? Ender? Tell me all the details gurl. I wanna know what and why :3
Mine is Arch and also windows XP, arch because I can literally do anything I want to it even blow it up and not have to compile everything, and windows XP as a kinda retro gaming/server/coding kinda os. Idk why but i just feel more productive on XP. Plus I know how to do 32bit binary shit. Meow. Love yew *muwah*

| My favourite operating system is anything allows me to watch sex.

| Manjaro. it just works(tm)

| I'm partial to Arch firsthand and Manjaro when I'm feeling lazy. And Raspberry Pi OS for the small ones.

| I only use windows and arch in my life, So I'll say arch btw. Mmmh systemd bad

| At some point I really want to get some old pcs that use floppy disks, do some programming projects on those. Idk what os would be good for that

| I only use sex as my operating system.

| Border collie OS

Religious…

| my favorite is TempleOS

| For the time being I use Windows 10 where I absolutely need to, mostly games though that probably won't be for long when I've backed up what I need.

I have sort of gone back and forth between Arch Linux and Fedora on one of my older computers, just figuring it out as I go.

| why yes I only use the truly working one MacOS

| >>1023975 the chud game on temple os is fun. Plus Lain is there. Lain in templeos is such a vibe

| >>1023680 ya i dont want to deal with all the bs of arch

| FreeBSD. Windows XP and 7 were comfy. I miss them.

| Windows! Microsoft protects my PC from viruses and keeps me safe! :)

| So I use Windows daily because its easier for gaming, but I prefer Endeavour or Arch, because I can control it more than Ubuntu (which is the one I used to use), but have been experimenting with other OS, they're fun but got used to Arch

| My favorite has to be arch, I like how it's minimalist and easy to use at the same time :3
I also like windows 7, It's so sad how it stopped receiving updates :(

| >>1023674 TempleOS, but isn't perfect tbh. I would wish use OS based on Shinto.

| Name ONE feature of Temple OS you use HARUMPH!!!!
I don’t like it at all! I can’t read my dojins, can’t talk to my friends, and can’t make very much anything positive!

| computers weren't build for that.

| >>1024512 yup, computers was made to talk with gods

dojinshi makers are gods and cumming is my voice

| Probably a year and a half ago there was Arch, now I use Void, but I think SMGL will be the favorite.

| Windows because it's actually designed for desktop use. I've been trying out Linux distros of various caliber since 2007 and funnily enough it was way more suited for desktop use back then than it is now.
Even after all this time the partitioning is a headache.
The system is web reliant, it's near impossible to configure it offline besides what is already shipped with it.
It's great for the servers and I appreciate the text mode. GUI is bad and will be for the foreseeable future.

| I just cannot accept when the OS demands that EVERYTHING will be up to date with the repository.
On Windows I'm able to just open the .exe from 20 years ago and in 99% of cases it'll just work.

| On Linux I need to look up what dependencies it needs and if they don't collide with the current ones.
Additionally Kernel updates on their own screwed me over. Time was when I had only a Linux laptop and an USB modem for internet connection. The kernel in Ubuntu 16.04/Mint 17 simply supported it and it worked.
Ubuntu 18.04/Mint 18 and of for no reason they removed the driver from the kernel rendering this device unusable "just because".

| A tldr is that Linux required, requires and will require a lot of tinkering and the user to be able to enjoy and appreciate this opportunity.
I'm not 15 anymore and I have better things to do than troubleshooting what's wrong.
The only scenario where I see myself move to Linux is a device that's still powerful enough for me, but it's being slowed down by modern Windows. Looking mainly at 2nd and 3rd gen Intel laptops... I love these stupid computers like you wouldn't believe.

| >>1024620
That’s terrible! If I ever meet Linus torrevalds I’m going to give them a piece of my mind!

| >>1024618 well i use TempleOS which may don't have value for you but your comment don't have any sense since TempleOS was also designed for Windows. Linux may wasn't designed for computers but actual distros are (of course if you don't download wrong distro). Windows have unhealthy monopoly, but actually if we will forget about support Linux, it have even features which beat Windows. GUI? It seems you didn't try distros as Manjaro or Zorin.

| >>1024619 you can run old exes on Linux too with limited compatibility by things as Wine or Proton, ironically some old games run on Linux better than on Windows. Packages was designed by different way as how Linux and forks developed etc. Also you don't need such thing as antivirus since you don't use dangerous files design as *.exe. btw. Linux advanced a lot since it.
>>1024621 what distro you used?

Problem of Linux is that you can't think about Linux as Windows.

| Microsoft is in top 10 of most rich companies, and Windows was become standard for what every company made software for really a lot decades. Linux was made independently by many groups seperately. Many servers are using Linux, Android was designed from it, even Valve used Linux to avoid Microsoft fees and on Steam Decks run well than would in 2014. Yes many compatibles problem can show up but Linux is developing better than ever. Actually i think Linux have potential to replace

| Windows in few decades. Windows 11 requirements are relatively high now and Microsoft is forcing people to migrate and doing stupid things as changing gui, limiting hw, bloating archaic compatibilies, and Linux usually run better than windows in speed benchmarks. It's need time, but Valve kicked in and invested a lot..
